Traditional Teaching

Generation after generation, Vedanta has been given unaltered from teacher to student — a process of succession known as sampradaya. This unbroken line of teaching aims to ensure the essence of Vedanta is preserved accurately.

A teacher fully schooled by this traditional sampradaya, whose understanding is therefore accurate and clear, knows that the words of Vedanta themselves, when handled properly, alone reveal the true, non–dual nature of reality by clearing misconceptions, and is able to unfold that understanding to those who seek it.

Arsha Vidya UK brings traditionally schooled Vedanta teachers, such as Swamini Atmaprakashananda, to the UK for the benefit of all who value what they offer.

Even in Vedanta there are key distinctions between traditional and non-traditional teachers, for not even Vedanta is immune to well–meaning misinterpretation. The five quotations listed on the left were chosen in the hope of illustrating these distinctions. More will be added over time.
